Imphal: The Manipur Chief Minister and other ministers visited Bishnupur district to inspect the site for temporary housing to be set up in Kwakta village.
With the aim of restoring normalcy in Manipur, the State government has initiated to make arrangements for temporary housing for families displaced in the recent violence in the State. Briefing the media persons, Mr. Biren said that the government has decided to relocate some of the displaced people taking shelter at different relief camps to the staff quarters of Sericulture farm located at Kwakta village. The quarters would be immediately repaired and another five hundred prefabricated houses would
be constructed in the farm.
He also informed that the government has decided to construct prefabricated houses for those who are currently taking shelter at different relief camps of Imphal East district.
The Chief Minister appealed to the public not to disturb the movements of security personnel by blocking roads. He said, security personnel are in Manipur to counter miscreants who are escalating tension in the State.
Meanwhile, the mass combing operation has been continuing in far flung areas of Manipur. The police report said that the combined security forces have so far recovered one thousand and ninety five firearms, thirteen thousand seven hundred two live rounds along with two hundred fifty bombs from different areas.
