Manipur to implement National Food Security Act by April:Okendro

Manipur Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Moirangthem Okendro has said, the National Food Security Act will be implemented in the state by next month. 

The Minister told the state legislative assembly last evening that more than 24 lakh individuals of the state’s



total population of about 28 lakh will be benefited by the implementation of the Act.

He, further, said that around 21 lakh cards of beneficiaries have been processed till date, which is 74 percent of the total population, against the target of 87 percent set by the department.
