Many districts witness torrential rain in Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, many districts are witnessing torrential rain from last 24 hours which has badly affected normal life. In Kanpur and Lucknow, all schools and colleges till 12th have been closed due to heavy rain and waterlogging in many areas. District Magistrate of Lucknow suryapal Gangwar informed in a late night order that due to waterlogging and heavy rain conditions all schools till 12th class will be closed today.

 

Commissioner of the division Roshan Jacob has also issued helpline numbers for the citizens to complain about waterlogging and other rain related accidents. Normal life in



many other districts is also affected by heavy rain. Almost all districts in state are witnessing normal to heavy rain from last 24 hours. Trees have fallen, power supply disrupted, lanes are water logged and normal traffic affected badly due to torrential rain.

 

Although farmers are happy with the rain which will be beneficial for their crops. It will also help the paddy farmers who were eagerly waiting for the rain. Many districts in the state were having a drought like situation and government is also conducting survey regarding this.
