Many trains cancelled, diverted in A.P

Hyderabad: The South Central Railways (SCR) have been forced to cancel, partially cancel and divert the running of several express and mail trains for the third day in succession consequent to the heavy rains in and around Chennai.

The SCR has set up helplines at Secunderabad with the numbers 040-27786770, 040-27788846, 040-27788889 and 040-27786539 for the benefit of passengers, friends and relatives to know more details about the run of trains.

Late on Monday evening and early on Tuesday, the SCR announced the cancellation of 30 trains, while partially cancelling nine more, apart from diverting the run of nine trains on Tuesday. This was necessitated because water was over-flowing above the danger level on railway bridge no. 167 between Tada and Sullurpet stations on the Gudur-Chennai section and the bank slip between Yellakaru and Venkatagiri stations and Vendodu-Kondagunta stations, an official release said.

The trains cancelled on November 17 include no. 12626 New-Delhi-Trivandrum Kerala express scheduled to leave at 11.25 a.m., no. 12270 Hazrath Nizamuddin-Chennai Central Duronto to leave at 3.45 p.m., no. 12616 Delhi Sarai Rahilla-Chennai Central Grand Trunk to leave at 5.50 p.m., no. 12622 New Delhi-Chennai Central Tamilnadu Express to leave at 10.30 p.m., no. 12295 Bangalore-Patna Sanghamithra (9 a.m.), no. 17229 Trivandrum-Hyderabad Sabari (7.15 a.m.), no. 12841 Howrah-Chennai Central Coromandel (2.50 p.m.), no. 22825 Shalimar (Kolkata)-Chennai Central (12.10 p.m.), no. 22807 Santragachi-Chennai Central (7 p.m.), 22642 Shalimar-Trivandrum express (11 p.m.), 12839 Howrah-Chennai Central Mail (11.45 p.m.), no. 12835 Hatia-Yesvantpur (6.25 p.m.), 17481 Bilaspur-Tirupati (10.05 p.m.) and no. 16354 Nagerocil-Kacheguda (8.10 a.m.).

Also cancelled were for Nov. 17 no. 17230 Hyderabad-Trivandrum Central Sabari express, no. no. 12604 Hyderabad-Chennai Central express, no. 12760 Hyderabad-Chennai



Central Charminar, no. 12764 Secunderabad-Tirupati Padmavati, no. 12734 Secunderabad-Tirupati Narayanadri, no. 12770 Secunderabad-Tirupati Seven Hills express, no. 17651 Chennai Egmore-Kacheguda Express, no. 17210 Kakinada Town-Bangalore Seshadri express, no. 17644 Kakinada Port-Chennai Egmore Circar express, no. 17402 Machilipatnam-Tirupati Link express, no. 57258 Kakinada Port-Tirupati Passenger, no. 17480 Tirupati-Puri express, no. 12763 Tirupati-Secunderabad Padmavathi, no. 12733 Tirupati-Secunderabad Narayanadri, no. 17401 Tirupati-Machilipatnam/Narsapur Link express and no. 17487 Tirupati-Visakhapatnam Tirumala express.

Trains that were partially cancelled include no. 22869 Visakhapatnam-Chennai, no. 08573 Visakhapatnam-Tirupati and no. 17479 Puri-Tirupati that left on Monday the originating stations but whose run were cancelled beyond Vijayawada.

Trains that were short teriminated at Guntakal include no. 12734 Secunderabad-Tirupati Narayanadri (now stationed at Yeramaras), no. 12604 Hyderabad-Chennai Central (now at Pagadipalli) and no. 12760 Hyderabad-Chennai Central Charminar express (now at Pagadipalli). Also, no. 07618 Secunderabad-Tirupati special now at Saidapur will be short-terminated at Raichur, while no. 22872 Tirupati-Bhubaneshwar express was short-terminated at Renigunta and the run of no. 17405 Tirupati-Adilabad was cancelled between Tirupati and Vijayawada

The run of eight more trains were diverted to run via Dharmavaram and some other stations, including no. 22815 Bilaspur-Ernakulam (that left on Nov. 16), no. 22632 Bikaner-Chennai Central express (of Nov. 15), no. 12296 Patna-Bengaluru (Nov. 15), no. 12864 Yesvantpur-Howrah (Nov. 16), no. 15901 Bengaluru-Dibrugarh Town (Nov. 16), no. 12616 New Delhi-Trivandrum Central Kerala express (Nov. 16), no. 17230 Hyderabad-Trivandrum Central Sabari express (Nov. 16), no. 15906 Dibrugarh-Kanyakumar (of Nov. 14) and no. 13351 Dhanbad-Alappuzha express.
