Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil has said that the bill to provide Maratha reservation will be introduced in the state assembly on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai on Monday, Patil said meetings are being held by the cabinet sub-committee to ensure that the law stands legal and constitutional

scrutiny.

Despite the government’s announcement that Marathas would be provided under a special ‘Socially and Educationally Backward Class’ category, the issue has dominated the discussion in the state's Legislative Assembly and Council since the winter session began on 19th November.
