Over 200 patients, including those in critical care, were safely shifted out of the hospital after a massive fire broke out on the second floor of Lok Bandhu Hospital in Lucknow last night. The incident created panic among patients and hospital staff.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the fire incident and instructed officials to ensure that all affected patients receive immediate medical attention.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who reached the spot late last night, praised the prompt response of the hospital staff and emergency services. Mr.
Pathak said that the fire began on the second floor, but due to quick thinking and coordination, around 200 patients were safely evacuated.
Principal Secretary of Health, Uttar Pradesh, Partha Sarthi Sen Sharm, said that no casualty or injury has been reported in the incident. All the patients have been shifted to another hospital.
Chief medical superintendent Dr. Ajay Shankar Tripathi said that preliminary findings suggest a short circuit may be the cause of the incident. However, a detailed inquiry will be conducted, he said.
