Mauritius can serve as hub for Indian companies looking to reach out to mainland Africa: President Kovind

President Ram Nath Kovind says, Mauritius can serve as a hub for Indian companies looking to reach out to mainland Africa. 

He said, Mauritius is a gateway to the Indian Ocean region and to Africa. 

Addressing the banquet hosted in his honour by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth on the eve of  50th anniversary of Mauritian independence day, Mr Kovind said Mauritius has a



natural convergence of interests with India like Star and Key of the Indian Ocean. 

He described the bilateral cooperation in maritime security and counter-terrorism as exemplary. 

He said, India looks forward to working with Mauritius ever more closely. President Kovind said, India will walk hand in hand, in step and in harmony, together with Mauritius.
