Mayors of three Municipal corporation of Delhi today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and sought his intervention in getting, what they claim, their rightful share of funds under Delhi Finance Commission recommendations from the AAP government. The delegation led by Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay and comprising mayors Subhash Arya (South), Harshdeep Malhotra (East) and Ravinder Gupta (East) urged Home Minister to take cognizance of "unconstitutional
ways" of the Delhi government.
Talking to reporters Mr Upadhyay said, Delhi government is depriving constitutional rights of the municipal corporations and bypassing the authority of Lieutenant Governor. East Delhi Mayor Harshdeep Malhotra asked Home Minister to ensure that Delhi government releases around 3,000 crore rupees under 3rd Delhi Finance Commission and implements 4th Delhi Finance Commission without further delay.
