The only airport of Meghalaya, Umroi airport is well prepared to resume flight with all safety protocols equipped to handle the flow of passengers after a gap of almost three months due to the nation-wide lockdown.
Director, Umroi Airport, Manish Kumar Agrawal informed that all necessary permissions for resuming flights are granted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the State Government.
However, he said that
the exact date of resumption of flight at Umroi Airport is not yet communicated by Indigo Airlines, but officials working at the airport are well sensitized about the precautions and protocols to be followed.
He added that the airport is ready to resume air services at any point of time with all safety measures.
Masks, sanitizers, and face shield will be provided to all the passengers by airliners.
