Mehbooba Mufti to take oath as CM of J&K today

PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti will take oath as the first woman Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir today.

The swearing in ceremony is scheduled to be held at 11 am at Raj Bhawan in the winter capital city of Jammu.

Governor NN Vohra will administer oath to Ms Mufti along with her council of ministers.

The Governor on Sunday invited Ms Mufti to form and lead the PDP-BJP coalition Government



in the state.

With this, over two and half month long Governor rule in the state will come to an end which was imposed on January 8 after the demise of former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed.

Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Minister Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh and other prominent personalities will attend the swearing in ceremony.
