In Odisha, mercury is likely to soar significantly in several districts as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave warning for today.
Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at many places with severe heat wave conditions at a few places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Kalahandi districts for which the IMD has issued a red warning.
Heat wave conditions are also likely to prevail at a few places in Sundargarh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Boudh, and
Bolangir districts as the IMD has issued an Orange warning for these districts.
Heat wave conditions are also likely to prevail at one or two places in Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Mayurbhanj districts. IMD has issued a Yellow warning for these districts.
The IMD has advised to take precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during peak hours of the day from 11 in the forenoon to 3 in the afternoon.
