MeT dept forecast heavy to very heavy rain in Maharashtra

The India Meteorological Department has forecast "heavy to very heavy" rains in Maharashtra, especially in the coastal Konkan region, from today to Monday. There is a possibility of "very heavy" rainfall in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Konkan areas today and tomorrow.

People outside Mumbai can dial 1077 and those in Mumbai can dial 1916 in case of



emergency. According to a government release, the state Calamity Relief Cell has sounded a high alert at Konkan and other regions in state.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has directed all departments concerned to be available in their headquarters on 9th and 10th June, despite holidays.
