In Uttar Pradesh, Meteorological Department has issued an of heavy to very heavy rain in next 48 hours. State is already witnessing torrential rain in many parts for last 2 days. Heavy rain disrupted normal life in many cities where reports of wall collapse, road cave-in, traffic snarls, water logging and flash flood are coming.

In last 24 hours highest rainfall was recorded in Kanpur.  Other cities like Meerut, Kannauj, Mainpuri, Prayagraj, Basti, Sidharthnagar, Gorakhpur Kushinagar are receiving continuous rain from last 48 hours. Sharda River in Lakhimpur Khiri is flowing above danger mark. 

In Bihar, Monsoon is active across the state for past three days. Met department has forecast moderate to



heavy rainfall in next 72 hours as a monsoon trough line is passing through the state.

Some parts received average 70 mm rainfall in three days. Water level of rivers like Gandak, Bagmati, Ganga and Kosi have touched the danger mark. Flood has been sounded across the Indo Nepal border in Gandak riverine area in West Champaran district after release of 1 lakh cusec water from Valmiki Nagar Gandak barrage.

Teams of NDRF has been deployed in flood prone areas for relief and rescue work. Heavy rain lashed normal life in the state. Low line areas of Patna and other cities witnessing heavy water logging. Patna municipal corporation has set up combat team for redressal of problems.
