For the first time in
the State of Telangana, a mid-day meal scheme would be implemented for degree
students in Mahbubnagar district from January 24, announced Collector T K
Sridevi on Thursday.
Speaking to the media, she told that the scheme which would benefit 10,075 students from 21 colleges was being taken up in view of students dropping out of colleges because of lack of proper food. The scheme would be continued till the completion of examinations, she added.

lakh was being allotted for the scheme from emergency funds. The other
expenditures would be met by the Akshaya Foundation. The Collector stated that
bedsheets were being provided to students of the Ashram schools with the
emergency funds.
Special classes were being conducted for achieving 100 per cent results in government schools. Awareness was being created among students throughplanned lessons. CPO Dasarath, MVS Degree College principal Yadagiri, several principals of government colleges and others were present.
