The migrant family was headed to Chhattisgarh on a bicycle after they reportedly ran out of resources during the ongoing lockdown.
Speaking to mediapersons, DCP East Soman Barma said that the incident had taken place on Wednesday night in Shaheed Path in Sushant Golf City Police Station area.
"Krishna and his wife Pramila, from Chhattisgarh, died while their two children, three-year-old son Nikhil and four-year-old daughter Chandni, were injured. The children have been admitted to Lohia Hospital," Barma said.
Krishna and Pramila, who were functioning as workers in Lucknow, were remaining in a ghetto in Jankipuram territory. The family was supposedly confronting a scarcity of assets in the midst of the lockdown, because of which they chose to cycle their way back
home.
During their excursion to Chattisgarh, Krishna's bike was hit by an obscure vehicle at Shaheed Path in Lucknow. The police were educated regarding the episode by a bystander. Police at that point arrived at the spot and hurried the family to the medical clinic. All relatives endured genuine wounds and Krishna and his better half Pramila died. In any case, their two children are experiencing treatment at Lohia Hospital and are said to be in a basic condition.
After accepting data about their demises, the relatives of the transient couple arrived at Lucknow and played out the last customs.
Krishna's brother Rajkumar said, “Krishna had no work due to the lockdown. He had savings money which had been spent in the past.”
The last rites of Krishna and his wife Pramila were performed after other migrants pooled in money and collected a sum of Rs 15,000, as Rajkumar didn’t have enough resources. Their bodies were cremated at Gulale Ghat on Thursday evening.
