In Assam, militant outfit Dimasa National Liberation Army, DNLA has declared unilateral ceasefire for six months with effect from 7th of September. A press release issued by the outfit said that the decision was taken as a goodwill gesture and positive response to the call of Chief Minister
Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The outfit hoped that this move would help the Centre and Assam government in creating an atmosphere for peace talks. The outfit is involved in series of crimes in Dima Hasao district and neighbouring areas in Assam.
