Ministry launched UDAN Scheme to stimulate regional air connectivity: Jyotiraditya Scindia

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that his Ministry has launched Regional Connectivity Scheme RCS - UDAN Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik to stimulate regional air connectivity and make air travel affordable to the masses.

In a written reply in Lok Sabha yesterday, Mr Scindia said, UDAN is a market-driven scheme and interested airlines based on their assessment of



demand on particular routes, submit their proposals at the time of bidding. 

He said, an airport or airstrip or helipad or heliport or water aerodrome which is included in the awarded routes of UDAN and requires up-gradation or development for commencement of operations, is developed under the revival of unserved and underserved airports scheme.
