Patna: A teenage girl who is believed to have been abducted by two men on a bike died after she flung herself off the bike trying to escape. The victim was crushed to death by a container truck that was just behind them, reported the media.

The incident took place in Dehri-on-Sone, an industrial township in western Bihar’s Rohtas district. The victim is yet to be identified. According to witnesses, the young victim was seen crying and struggling to get away from the abductors. When the bike was near a coal depot where some people were present, the girl flung herself on the road and attempted to escape. However, she landed in front of a container

truck that was behind the motorcycle and was crushed to death instead, as reported by the media.

The abductors escaped unharmed on their bike though the truck driver was caught and thrashed by onlookers on the highway. The residents also blocked national highway 19 and demanded strict action against those guilty, as reported by the media.

The container was on its way to Haldia in West Bengal. According to Dehri station house officer Rajiv Kumar, the girl was carrying a purse but there were no identification documents inside. Efforts are on to identify both the victim and the two men, as reported by the media.
