A Canadian cyclist who had been held captive by Maoist cadres in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district was released yesterday. According to Police, John Szlazak, the Canadian national, has been released in Arnampalli forests.

Abhishek Meena told PTI that the security personnel brought him to Sukma district headquarters. Szlazak, was on a bicycle expedition from Mumbai to the Naxal-affected Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. Naxals held him suspecting to be a police informer on Monday evening.
