Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked railways to work towards achieving the zero accident target to make train journey safe.He said the derailment of the Indore-Patna Express will be probed. He made this remark at Rail Vikas Shivir at Surajkund on the outskirts of Delhi where he along with Railwaymen observed two minute silence to condole the loss of lives.
An official release said, Mr Modi was given thematic presentations on various aspects of the Railways. The aim of the three day Shivir, organised by Indian
Railways was to generate innovative ideas across most critical areas of Railway Operations for substantial progress of this sector.
Earlier, Addressing the inaugural session of the Rail Vikas Shivir through video conferencing on Friday, Prime Minister had said that the 21st century is technology driven and innovation is essential for railway's speed and progress.Mr Modi said the Railways have to be developed and made financially strong for the benefit of the country and particularly those working for the Railways.
