Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hit out at the Congress for questioning the Election Commission over the delay in announcing the poll schedule for Gujarat. 

He was addressing a public meeting at Vadodara yesterday after dedicating and laying foundation of various development works worth over 1,140 crore rupees. Mr Modi reminded the Congress about the role of the poll panel during the Rajya Sabha elections in the state. 

He said, Congress candidate Ahmed Patel had a narrow margin victory in the polls due to the Election Commission. The Prime Minister said, the Congress has no moral right to question the Constitutional



body.Mr Modi also said, his government was committed to provide homes to all by 2022. He urged the people of Gujarat to take full benefit of his government at the Centre.

Earlier in the day, Mr Modi inaugurated the first phase of ambitious Roll-on Roll-off ferry service between Ghogha and Dahej. He also dedicated to the nation Sarvottam cattle feed plant at Ghogha in Bhavnagar district. 

Mr Modi said, the process of taking important decisions regarding economic reforms will continue. He said, the economy is on track and is going in the right direction after hardcore decisions for economic reforms.
