New Delhi, Apr 19: Ministers and officials in the Central government will not be able use red beacons on their official vehicles from 1st of next month.
The decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting this morning.



The move is aimed at eradicating VVIP culture in the country.
However, the President, the Prime Minister, the Vice-President, the Chief Justice of India and the Lok Sabha Speaker will be exempt from the restriction.
