New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Healthcare has been one of the key focus areas of the Modi government.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, December 23, he said, the last eight years have been about augmenting health infrastructure, ensuring affordable and quality healthcare access to every Indian.
Mr. Scindia said, the Modi government is ensuring access to quality essential healthcare services and affordable medicines by putting the vision of Antyodaya into action in
healthcare.
The Minister added that Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under Ayushman Bharat is the world's largest health insurance scheme fully financed by the Central government.
The scheme is covering around 10 crores 74 lakh poor and vulnerable families for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. He said that Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres are being created to build sustainable primary health care with a focus on wellness and the delivery of health services closer to the community.
