Modi reiterates that NDA govt is working towards ensuring that income of farmers double by 2022

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reiterated that the NDA government is working towards ensuring that the income of farmers double by 2022. 

Interacting with farmers from across the country via the Narendra Modi App, Mr Modi said his government is facilitating proper assistance wherever required to achieve this end. Saying that he has faith in country's farmers, Mr Modi pointed out that the credit for serving the country with food goes to



them.

The Prime Minister said his government is stressing on four key points- lowering the cost of raw materials, ensuring fare value of yield, stopping wastage of produce, and alternative sources of income for farmers. 

He said besides record production of grains, production of fruits and vegetables have also shown an increase. Mr Modi expressed delight in interacting with the farmers from over 600 districts.
