Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address rallies at Sonamura in Sipahijala district and Kailasahar in Unakoti district today. Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Sarbanand Sonowal addressed public meetings in Teliamura and Majlishpur yesterday. 

Assam’s former Chief Minister and Congress leader Tarun Gogoi campaigned in Badarghat constituency. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar addressed rallies in Kumar ghat and Kailasahar of Unakoti district. The state will go to polls on the 18th of this month to elect a new assembly. 

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing rallies in Sonamura of Sipahijala and Kailasahar of Kailasahar districts. In view of PM's rally, the security arrangement has



been beefed up in the state. Also, yesterday addressing rally in Teliamura, Assam’s Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to develop each and every state of the country. 

While talking to media in Agartala, Assam’s former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi criticising the present central government said that it has been adopting policies which are not in favour of the common people of the country. Addressing poll rallies in Kumarghat and Kailasahar, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that in the regime of present central government, rate of unemployment has increased. He also said that the central government is not filling up vacancies remained in central government departments.
