Monsoon session of both houses of Bihar legislature to begin today

The Monsoon session of both houses of the Bihar legislature will begin in Patna today. The session will continue till 26 of this month and it will have five seatings. 

Five bills are slated to be tabled in the house during this session including amendments to the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016, with a view to prevent its misuse. The first Supplementary



Budget of the current financial year will be tabled in the house.

The session is likely to be stormy as opposition parties have decided to corner the government on various issues including deteriorating law and order. Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has appealed all parties for smooth functioning of the house.
