Mumbai: The monsoon session of Maharashtra Legislature will begin today. The nine-day long session will culminate on August 25. This is the first session of the Maharashtra Government led by Eknath Shinde as Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis as his deputy came to power on the 30th of June this year. A total nine bills are proposed for discussion during the monsoon session, while six ordinances will be placed on the table of the House.
The opposition parties including NCP-Congress and Shiv Sena are geared
up to corner the ruling dispensation on various issues in this session. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has further allocated the additional portfolios with him to nine ministers from his faction to give replies to the questions that will be raised in the ensuing legislature session.
Accordingly, Uday Samant will reply to queries on Information and Technology, Shambhuraj Desai on Transport, and Deepak Kesarkar on Environment and Climate Change among others.
