Lucknow: A brief monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh legislature will commence from today. The Supplementary Budget of the government will be tabled during the session. The opposition members are likely to raise several issues in this session. The previous session of the state legislature was convened on the 18th of February and it ended on 4th March after the passage of the budget for 2021-22.
According to the agenda issued by the Legislative Assembly, the supplementary demands will be tabled on 18th August. The budget will be passed after the debate on the 19th. There
will be no sitting of the House on August, 20, 21 and 22. On August 23 and 24 the house business will take place.
The all-party meeting was called by Assembly speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit yesterday in which he sought cooperation from the opposition for smooth functioning of the house. He said all arrangements according to Covid19 protocol have been put in place for the session. Chief Minister and leader of the house Yogi Adityanath said that the government is serious about debating and proceeding in the house on different issues.
