The Government said that more than 15.45 Crore of over 19 crore rural households in the country have tap water supply in their homes under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).  In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil said, that at the time of the inception of the Mission in 2019, only 3. 23 Crore rural households had tap water connections. He also informed that around 12.22 Crore rural households have been provided with tap



water connections ever since under the Mission.  

The Minister further said, 11 States and Union Territories including Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Punjab and Telangana besides Andaman Nicobar Islands, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu and Puducherry have provided 100 per cent tap water connections to the rural households.
