The government has said that more than 36 crore Ayushman cards have been created under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana across the country. The scheme, launched in September 2018 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, provides a cover of up to five lakh rupees per family per year, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

State for Health, Prataprao Jadhav said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha yesterday. He said a total of 8.39 crore hospital admissions worth 1.16 lakh crore rupees have been authorised under the scheme till date. Mr Jadhav informed that only West Bengal, Odisha and Delhi are not implementing the scheme.
