In Assam, more than
two crore LPG consumers have joined the ambitious PAHAL scheme. The scheme was
introduced in the state from January 1 last year. The unique PaHaL Yojna or
Direct
Benefit Transfer Scheme for LPG subsidy launched by centre covers around
80 per cent LPG consumers in the Assam. Under the scheme, consumer sold LPG
cylinders on market rate and get subsidy in their bank accounts. Around two
crore 90 thousand consumers of Assam have enrolled in the PAHAL scheme till
date.
