Most parts of Uttar Pradesh received heavy rain on Sunday. Met department said rainfall is likely to continue for some time. At least 10 people lost their lives in rain-related incidents.

Two persons each died in Mirzapur and Pratapgarh when lightening struck them, while one person each died in Moradabad, Ambedkarnagar and Hathras, Prayagraj and Amethi districts due to various reasons related to rains.

Chief Minister of state Yogi Adityanath has announced ex gratia of 4 lakh rupees



each for the family of deceased persons.

In the last 24 hours monsoon has covered almost every part of the state. Some districts in the eastern part of state received heavy rains while in state capital Lucknow people experienced continuous moderate rain for few hours.

Highest rain was recorded in Kanpur district which was 40 millimetres. Met officials have also warned about thunderstorm and heavy to very heavy rains at some places in the state.
