MP: Niwari district becomes second Har Ghar Jal district

In Madhya Pradesh, Niwari district has become the second Har Ghar Jal district in the state. Drinking water is being supplied from the tap in every household in this district. Burhanpur district of state already has the distinction of being the country's first Har Ghar Jal district.

In Niwari, 100 percent tap water has been supplied to 55 thousand 645 houses in all 253 villages of the district. In Niwari district, an arrangement of tap water has been made in all the



rural houses through three groups of tap water schemes. 

Tap water facility was provided to 100 percent houses of in 30 villages through Niwari Group Tap Water Scheme, 143 villages through Niwari-Prithvipur-1 Group Tap Water Scheme and 80 villages through Niwari-Prithvipur-2 Group Tap Water Scheme. It is worth mentioning that till now water has been supplied through taps to more than 60 lakh 7 thousand houses in the state.
