The agitating employees of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) called off their five-day strike late last night after a meeting of their core committee.
MSRTC employees went on an indefinite strike on Tuesday demanding a salary hike in accordance with the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations.The decision to call off the strike was taken in a late night meeting of Core committees of employee organisations held yesterday.
Earlier yesterday, the Bombay
High Court had also ordered to call it off, terming the the ongoing strike of the employees of the MSRTC “illegal” and directed them to resume work immediately.
Justice S K Shinde also directed the committee, set up by the state government to look into the employees’ issues, to submit its interim report by November 15 and the final report on December 22. More than one lakh MSRTC employees went on an indefinite strike from Tuesday, demanding a salary hike.
