Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju yesterday inaugurated the Hunar Haat at Dilli Haat, Pitampura in New Delhi which will continue till 22nd of this month.
Talking to reporters during inauguration of the HunarHaat, Mr Naqvi said that Hunar Haat” is becoming an effective platform to strengthen the mission of “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” and Vocal for Local by promoting and encouraging indigenous products of master artisans and craftsmen. The Minister said indigenous exquisite products made of clay, metal, wooden and jute are the major attraction at “HunarHaat” .
He said social distancing and other guidelines regarding Corona pandemic are being strictly followed at Hunar
Haat. He said, this “HunarHaat” is also available on virtual and online platforms.
Minority Affairs Ministry is also registering these artisans and their indigenous products on Government e-Marketplace-GeM. Mr. Naqvi said,in the coming days, Hunar Haat will be organized at Jaipur, Chandigarh, Indore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, India Gate, New Delhi, Ranchi, Kota and Surat and Ahmedabad.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju in his address appealed to the people to buy from local artisans to strengthen their art and craftsmanship. He said, in this festival season, buying a gift from a variety of products made by local craftspersons will give a boost to ‘Vocal for Local.
