All eyes are set on the meeting convened by Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav at Lucknow Party Headquarters today. The meeting is likely to be attended by all sitting and ex MPs and MLAs, office bearers, party leaders and also by CM Akhilesh Yadav.
The crisis in the first family of Uttar Pradesh seems to have deepened with action and reactions of warring factions which rocked the party yesterday. On a day of fast-paced developments yesterday, CM Akhilesh first sacked Shivpal, his uncle and party's state unit chief, along with three other ministers from his Cabinet.
Party chief Mulayam Singh expelled his cousin Prof Ram Gopal Yadav, national general secretary and spokesperson, from the party for six years. In an
unprecedented move, while expelling Ramgopal Yadav yesterday, Shivpal had launched a scathing attack on him saying that he was tarnishing the image of Samajwadi Party by dabbling in corruption, colluding with BJP and weakening Mulayam's leadership.
While Ramgopal refuted all allegations and once again extended all his support for CM Akhilesh Yadav. Sources say that some more heads may roll after today's crucial meeting headed by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav where all factions will be present.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief Keshav Prasad Maurya has said that the Samajwadi Party Government has been reduced to minority. He demanded that the Akhilesh Yadav government should prove its majority on the floor of the house.
