Some parts of Mumbai and suburbs have been receiving heavy rain since this morning.
Commuters faced problems as road and rail traffic was affected due to water logging in various low lying areas.
Waterlogging was also reported on Western Express Highway near Andheri subway, putting an additional burden on the Metro rail service. Very heavy rain was witnessed at Dadar, Sion, Vikhroli, Andheri, Goregaon and Mira Road.
Trains on Western line are
running delayed whereas trains on Central and Harbour line are running late by 20 to 25 minutes. Operations at the Mumbai airport were suspended briefly in the morning.
Some flights were diverted to nearby airports. However, no flights were cancelled.
Meanwhile, part of a two-storey house collapsed in Govandi area, injuring eight people. The injured, who were admitted to a hospital, were later discharged after treatment.
