Former president Pranab Mukherjee, who is in a critical condition after undergoing brain clot surgery, is "haemodynamically stable now", his son Abhijit Mukherjee said on Wednesday. Taking to his Twitter handle, he appealed to the people to continue to pray for his father's recovery.

"With All Your Prayers , My Father is haemodynamically stable now. I request everyone to continue with your prayers & good wishes for his speedy recovery. Thank You #PranabMukherjee," the ex-president's son tweeted.

Earlier in the day, his daughter



and Congress leader Sarmistha Mukherjee penned an emotional message for her father. She also took to her twitter handle to say that may god choose the best path for him and gives her the strength to accept whatever comes ahead.

“Last year 8 August was one of the happiest day for me as my dad received Bharat Ratna.Exactly a year later on 10 August he fell critically ill. May God do whatever is best for him & give me strength to accept both joys & sorrows of life with equanimity. I sincerely thank all for their concerns," Sharmistha Mukherjee tweeted.
