In Nagaland, the by-election to the 10 Northern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency will see a straight contest between former chief minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu of NPF and Kekhrie Yhome as an Independent candidate.

41 year old Kekhrie Yhome is a Human rights activist-cum-academician but a first timer in electoral fray whereas Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu an octogenarian is a veteran regionalist who will be contesting for the 9th time. Both, Dr. Shürhozelie and Kekhrie hail from Kohima village and



also belong to the same khel.

Elaborate arrangement including security for the smooth conduct of the poll has been finalized and along with the Electronic Voting Machine, Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail will be used.

Altogether, 16, 235 voters will be exercising their franchise tomorrow. Out of total voters, 7697 are male and 8538 are female. The poll spread over 25 polling stations will start from 7 AM in the morning and end at 4 PM in the evening.
