Vijayawada: After Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy leaving for London along with his wife Bharati, Opposition leader and TD national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu along with his wife Bhuvaneswari left for US on Saturday night. He will be undergoing medical tests in US. His son and TDP national secretary Nara Lokesh and his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari are already in US. They had gone there on May 16.
Naidu will be back on May 25 or 26. He would then hold meetings with party leaders on the measures that need to be taken for counting of votes on June 4. APCC chief Y.S. Sharmila also left for US to spend time with her son Raja Reddy. Her mother Y.S. Vijayamma is already in US with her grandson Raja Reddy. Except Naidu, all the other leaders would return to India in June, ahead of the counting of votes polled for the Assembly and general elections.
Having participated extensively in campaigning, leaders of all the political parties took
the most essential break from the hustle and bustle in the state. The TD rank and files were trolling against YSR Congress president and chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over his present trip to the UK on a post-poll vacation. He left here two days ago. They claimed the chief minister was seeking “some relief” from an impending “defeat” in the elections.
Now, YSRC cadres retaliated to these by starting reverse trolling against Naidu and Lokesh. “They went to America to relax themselves for fear of a possible repetition of the 2019 results in favour of the YSRC,” they wrote. The assembly and parliament elections were held in Andhra Pradesh on May 13.
The results will be out on June 4. In the interregnum, leaders who campaigned extensively for a month went off on a vacation to mentally and physically relax themselves. Several senior leaders from AP are now away from their political bases.
