Anantapur: Telugu Desam president Nara Chandrababu Naidu would visit the irrigation projects, mainly those in an incomplete state in the Rayalaseema region, from August 1.

TD politburo member Kalava Srinivasulu told the media here on Friday that Naidu would be visiting the irrigation projects and connecting canals. "Not even a single irrigation project with 90 per cent completion during the TD rule has progressed further during the four years of the YSRC rule. Farmers are suffering due to this," he said.

Chandrababu touring the Rayalaseema region would be in Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur areas on August 1. "He will visit

the Handri Neeva project canals and other connecting projects in Kurnool district and the Gandikota reservoir and its surrounding areas to interact with farmers and others who are still unable to get the rehabilitation facility," the TD leader said.

Naidu will reach Anantapur on August 3 and visit the BT project and Peruru Project as the expansion works that had been sanctioned during the TD term remained "neglected."

Srinivasulu said chief minister Jagan Reddy who promised to widen the HNSS main canal did nothing for the farmers of the Rayalaseema region.
