Nashik Police has
suspended all mobile internet service and bulk messaging services in the city
limits. This comes a day after Nashik witnessed violent protests over the alleged
rape attempt on a 5-year-old girl. While the situation is under control and no
untoward incident was reported today; city police have restricted data access
to maintain peace and check the spread of rumours and provocative messages.

violating the order will be liable for punishment under relevant IPC sections.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home (rural) Deepak Kesarkar
said police are organising meetings of peace committees to maintain social
harmony. He visited the victim’s family and said that financial and medical
assistance will be provided to the girl.
