The nation is paying homage to former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 110th birth anniversary today. A commemorative programme to mark the day is being organised at Samta Sthal in New Delhi by Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. 

Jagjivan Ram known popularly as



Babuji, was a political leader as well as a noted freedom fighter. He was born on this day in 1908 in Chandwa, Bihar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid rich tributes Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary. In a tweet, Mr Modi said his service to India and struggles for the rights of the marginalised always inspire.
