National health protection scheme to be implemented from Oct 2

National health protection scheme announced in the Union Budget 2018 will be implemented from October 2, officials sources said. Under the scheme, 10 crore families will be provided Rs 5



lakh cover annually for treatment. Touted as the world's largest health protection scheme, it will require an estimated Rs 11,000 crore in central and state govt funding each year.
