New Delhi: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Boys and Girls Mountaineering Expedition to Mount Thelu Peak was flagged off by Director General, NCC Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh from New Delhi yesterday. The team comprises of five officers, 17 Permanent Instructors, and 26 NCC Cadets from various Directorates. The team will attempt to scale Mount Thelu Peak by the third week of September this year.

Defence Ministry said, this is the 86th NCC Cadets Mountaineering



Expedition since 1970. Mount Thelu Peak, with an altitude of over six thousand metres, is located in the Gangotri Range of the Garhwal Himalaya in Uttarakhand. On the occasion, DG, and NCC exhorted them to undertake the challenges with calmness, courage, professionalism, and indomitable will. He said, NCC has been at the forefront in the development of the youth and providing ample opportunities for the cadets to participate in adventure activities
