Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and CPI-M are the only two parties which have agreed to participate in the EVM hacking challenge organized by the Election Commission on 3rd of next month. 

The Commission announced yesterday that out of eight parties only Sharad Pawar's NCP and the CPI-M accepted the challenge. Yesterday was the last date to enlist for the move. EC said the AAP and the BSP, which were the most vociferous in questioning the reliability of the machines, decided to stay away. 

While AAP and Congress raised some issue as per the existing



framework of challenge but have not expressed their interest in participating in the challenge.Earlier, the Commission spokesperson had said only the NCP had accepted the challenge but later it clarified that the CPI-M has also expressed its interest in the exercise. He said the challenge would take place on June 3 between 10 AM and 2 PM at Nirvachan Sadan, the EC headquarters in New Delhi.

Last week, the poll panel had announced the challenge to counter allegations of EVM tampering levelled by some parties including Aam Admi Party and BSP.
