NCP join hands with BJP for Mumbai Cricket Association elections

A meeting between NCP chief Sharad Pawar and BJP's Mumbai President Ashish Shelar on the last date of filing nominations has led to the formation of a group along party lines. The Sharad Pawar-Ashish Shelar group has Shelar contesting for the post of president. 

Earlier, Sharad Pawar's group was supporting former Indian cricketer Sandeep Patil for the post of president, but the equations have changed now. Others who feature on the list of coalition are MLA Jitendra Ahwad contesting for the post of Apex Council member. Milind Narvekar, PA to Uddhav



Thackeray is also contesting for Apex Council from the Pawar-Shelar group. Shinde group MLA Pratap Sarnaik's son Vihaang Sarnaik will be contesting for the post of Chairman for Mumbai Premier League T20.

A letter has been issued stating that Sharad Pawar has formed an alliance with Ashish Shelar.  Names of above candidates mentioned in the list.  A joint statement signed by both has been announced. A tweet by Shiv Sena leader and close aide, Milind Narvekar tweeted while filing his nomination for Mumbai Cricket Association election on Monday.
