New Delhi: Nearly 79 lakh LPG connections have been released under Ujjwala 2.0 by the Oil Marketing Companies by the end of last month. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli said, maximum number of over 17 lakh 90 thousand connections have been released to West Bengal followed by Uttar Pradesh wherein over 13 lakh 14 thousand
connections have been released.
The Minister said, Oil Marketing Companies have taken several steps to encourage better consumption of LPG and reduce diversion and delay in supplies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched Ujjwala 2.0 in August this year with an aim to release one crore LPG connections across the country.
