Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has underlined the need to make AIIMS institutes of global excellence. 

Addressing the 6th Meeting of the Central Institute Body of All New AIIMS at Bhubaneswar-based AIIMS, the minister said that AIIMS are pivotal institutes of tertiary health care in the country.

Addressing representatives of all AIIMS, eminent experts, and special invitees to the 1st CIB meeting held outside Delhi, Dr. Mandaviya stressed on superior quality, clinical care, the highest standards of medical education, and cutting edge research to realise the mandate of AIIMS. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar among others.

visiting a PM Jan Ausadhi Kendra in Bhubaneswar, the Minister said that over 9000 Janaushadhi Stores have been set up across the country under the able leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which are providing affordable and quality medicines to the people. 

Interacting with the beneficiaries during the visit, he said that Janaushadhi Stores have not only extended the outreach of quality medicines but have also been able to reduce the out of pocket expenditure of people on medicines by around 50%-90%. 

Earlier, during his three days visit to Odisha, the Minister urged the govt of Odisha to implement the Ayushman Bharat health scheme for the larger benefit of the people of the state.
