Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the Congress and the YSR Congress party led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy are the same. Addressing a public rally in Andhra's Palnadu, PM Modi stated, "Never think that Jagan's party and Congress are two different parties. Both are the same".

His remark came a day after the dates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state were announced. The polling for the two elections will be held simultaneously on May 13.

The Prime Minister slammed the Andhra Pradesh government led by Jagan Mohan Reddy and said the ministers of the state are "competing in corruption". The people of Andhra Pradesh are angry with the state government and feel betrayed by them, he added.

"They have decided they will bring back the NDA government in the Centre," said PM Modi.

He also slammed the Congress and said the party has only one agenda, which is to "use and throw the people of the alliance" while the NDA "takes everyone along".

The Prime Minister alleged that Congress has "always insulted the pride of Andhra Pradesh" while the NDA government "always respected" the state.

"The NDA government conferred the Bharat Ratna to PV Narasimha Rao, the son of the land of Telugu. Congress had insulted him," said PM Modi. He added that the BJP and the NDA rise

above party lines and always respect the leaders who are dedicated to the country.

He also said Congress joined the INDIA bloc "out of compulsion" and pointed out that in Kerala, the party is in opposition to the Left, while in Punjab, the leaders of the party and AAP are "calling names against each other".

"You can only imagine what they may do after the elections," he added.

The Prime Minister compared the INDIA bloc to the NDA and said the alliance at the Centre is moving forward with regional aspirations and national progress.

"In this election, our allies are continuously increasing. The power of NDA is increasing," he added.

He also praised former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan, who shared the stage with him at the public meeting. PM Modi said that for a long time, they have been working relentlessly for the rights of the people and for the development of Andhra Pradesh.

The BJP, TDP and Jana Sena recently agreed on a seat-sharing deal for the assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The Prime Minister said the NDA's aim is for 'Viksit Bharat' and to build 'Viksit Andhra Pradesh'.

He expressed confidence that the NDA would win over 400 seats in the general elections.
